We converted the old office we no longer needed and turned the area into a beautiful bar where we could entertain family and friends. The office had two entrances; we bricked up and plastered the single entrance and brought in a water supply for the sink unit in the bar.
Then we added two big windows to let in natural light. I wanted to design a bar that would look different to conventional home bars. We appointed Scandi SA Bespoke Kitchen and Cabinetry to make the bar to our specifications. They had to incorporate an undercounter bar fridge from Snomaster. We supplied Scandi SA with 18 hexagon shelves from Leroy Merlin, which they installed as a main feature in the bar.
Instead of air conditioning we installed an Evaporate cooling system from Raptor Engineering.
We appointed Mpumelelo Ceilings to give the high ceiling a better dimension. We installed surround sound speakers in the new ceiling. We installed new window frames from Van Acht Doors and Windows ourselves, with the help of our handyman. Blinds were installed by Fabric Fusion.
Lighting and power were installed by my husband who is a retired registered electrical contractor.
We did the plastering and painting ourselves, with the help of our handyman.
