About the Project:

We moved from Pretoria to the Namakwaland in July 2022. The property had an old house and a new tiny house. The old house was probably built in the later years of the 1800s. The house was built from sand. We met a resident of Springbok, Mr Dippenaar, who grew up in the old house from 1943 till 1965. The house was totally neglected and not occupied for at least 20 years. Nature took over. We decided to renovate the old house with limited funds. The house has been beautifully restored to its old self. We live in the new tiny house because the old house has no water, electricity or kitchen. They cooked outside. We often have sleepovers in the old house and drink coffee inside when we have guests. We named the house “Delft Blauw”.
