The estate that we live in does not allow pools or jacuzzis, but we love to bath outside.
So, the project was to hide a bath in plain sight, without drawing attention to it.
I had a pathway laid alongside the house to look like the pathway around the house.
I had the plumber working on the house put a hot and cold water tap on the outside wall of the house.
Then I proceeded with the self-build.
So, I measured out a ball-and claw-bath that we have at our existing house, and I then proceeded to measure out a ‘fake’ planter box in which we could place plants to hide the fact that there is a bath housed within the planter box.
I sourced concrete board Shera Boards that look like wood, cut them all to size, drilled, painted and then proceeded to mount them on aluminum angle bar to form the frame to place the plants and bath inside.
Once that was done, I used thread bar to create a shelf inside the frame on which the plastic containers sit to form the plant area. The plants sit in the plastic containers.
I then purchased some polycarbonate roof sheeting (flat) to put the ‘fake’ ivy onto and this will rest on top of the bath when not in use to keep the bath out of sight as well as clean.
I have included a photo of the bath open and closed.
Just a fun project to break the rules and have an outside bath under the stars!
