After many years of looking at my dreary oak cabinets in my kitchen and then stumbling upon Thjoko Paint, we decided that it was time to make a drastic change. The structure and condition of the cabinets was still good. Working at a school, I decided that the April holidays were going to be the time to tackle this project. It so happened that the country was put in lockdown due to the Covid-19 virus and my husband had to close his business during this time. It was the ideal opportunity for the whole family to get involved and start painting. My son and husband helped with removing all the doors, handles and hinges and with preparing all the surfaces for painting. Everyone grabbed a paintbrush and started painting. Luckily, I had purchased all the materials before lockdown (e.g. paint, handles, hinges and countertops). It took two weeks to complete the project. A contractor will install vinyl wood flooring after lockdown.
