I am currently renovating a cottage I own. It’s been on my horizon to move in after renting it to tenants for several years, to pay off my bond. In the meantime, I’ve “Pinterest-ed” myself silly…dreaming about the home I’m going to create! I had quite a few raised eyebrows from my builders and contractors around some of my design ideas, but they’ve gone along in the main with the vision!

The area I’m sharing is the dining room/kitchen; it’s open plan and the most ‘complete’. I moved into the cottage a few weeks ago with my niece, who is staying with me while studying fashion design, and we are currently getting to know our new home.

I am completing the renovation room by room and it’s good to see things come to fruition after a very stressful period! I’m looking forward to seeing where I can take this project to in a year’s time.
