We bought a small, ramshackle cottage in Noordhoek as our retirement home in August 2021 (a shared property with our son and his wife) and began renovations almost immediately. Little did we realise quite what we were in for when Norman and his team got to work, ripping the house apart, extending the bedroom, creating a front veranda, a new bathroom, an indoor staircase, a balcony, a sprung wooden floor, adding new windows to bring light to dark areas, replacing old ones, remodelling the loft rafters and moving doors to create space for a kitchen, amongst other things. We were lucky enough to employ Samir, whom we have used on and off over the years, to create a beautiful, new, compact kitchen.
When the dust had settled, and after a large amount of work in the garden, we were happily rewarded with a beautiful and harmonious home, which is a continual source of pleasure for us, and will no doubt be for many years to come.
