After my husband passed away in 2021 due to Covid, my mom and dad came to live with me and my children.
We moved them into a room in my house but after 18 months we felt the need to move them out of my house and into their own little cottage in my yard.
So, we drew up some plans (nothing was added, only internal changes) and started to transform my double garage and outer buildings into a cottage for them.
My late husband was the builder in the family, so it was quite an undertaking to find a builder we could trust. Luckily, some friends were able to introduce us to a good builder and his team and through them also the kitchen guy.
Now they have a little place they can call their own and they are still just a stone’s throw away. So when I need to travel, they are here to help watch the kids.
