The renovation of our outdoor entertainment area was done well after our house was complete. The saligna wood was sourced locally and used to extend our entertaining space as our house is quite small. We decided to design the roof so that it slants with the angle of the roof and maximises our mountain view and winter sun exposure. The whole roof including the structure, sheeting and woodwork was done with the help of a few friends for heavy lifting; otherwise fully DIY.
The stoep and braai were completed first. The existing stoep was enlarged and a new braai was built.
