Three years ago we bought a fixer-upper Home … and a lot of work! We have completed a number of renovations, but our Braai Area is our firm favourite. Last year we build a new front wall, and because we had some material left over, we decided to start work on our Braai Area at the same time. The basic building work was completed, and the rest of the project was completed as time (and budget) allowed.
We were very excited to reclaim an old I-beam from the scrapyard, and found a lovely Boma for sale at a local school’s yearly show-day.
With the 2020 Lockdown, suddenly time was no longer a constraint – and we pushed to get our Braai Area completed … ready for the first after-lockdown braai!
This project took over a year to complete in bits and pieces – in true DIY tradition 😉 … here’s to hoping we don’t have to wait another year to have friends over!
