This project involved converting a panel van into a motorhome. In January 2022, I started the project and removed all the panelling and floors in the van. I insulated the inside of the van and started building. I used PVC Foamboard for the whole project because it was more durable than other materials and also eliminates wood rot, which is always a big concern in motorhomes. I also built a scooter carrier at the back of the van to accommodate a scooter that can be used for exploring the area when camping. I installed a full bathroom that includes a shower, basin and porta potty; a king-size bed; TV; oven; microwave; geyser solar panels and inverter; pull-out sink and gas burners to cook outside; a pull-out awning and a fan above the bed.
At the back, I made a storage space below the bed where I installed a water tank and a battery system; in the middle there’s a pull-out platform so I can reach loose items like chairs, a table, pots, pans etc. I decided to have the outside of the van wrapped with wildlife to add a camper feeling to it. I completed the project about eight months later and now we are ready to camp!
