I had to redo the bathroom because I was getting married, and we didn’t like the way it looked when we got the house. So, a friend and I started knocking down the tiles and took the bath out until there was nothing but the walls. Together, we did the water points for the toilet pan, shower mixer, basin and washing machine. That’s including the 50mm waste pipes for the shower and basin. We used the existing 110mm toilet pipe. I got the majority of the material from my work as a wedding gift, as I work on a construction site. Once the plumber was done, I did the tilling myself. When the tiling was done, including the grouting, and my wife was happy, I started with the finishes including towel rails and soap dishes, mixers, fitting the toilet, basin and shower head plus mixer. Then came the shower glass. We moved the window out of the shower, and I closed the hole myself. It was difficult doing things alone, but I pushed to complete it to make my wife happy before she moved in, and I was happy with the way it turned out.
