I bought this run-down gem at the end of 2022.
There is a 36m2 cottage on the plot. Grillerig. The bathroom (2 x 2m) with a shower and washbasin had Novilon on the walls and the dry ceiling board walls were covered with patches of black mould.
But there is huge potential.
With the assistance of two labourers, we removed the cork floors, the roof was sealed, new ceiling boards were fitted, the bathroom was taken out, the drywall for the shower was removed – and instantly the bathroom grew bigger. I got a plumber to redo all the pipework. The walls were fitted with Nutec boards, and a quadrant shower was installed. The floor of the main room was tiled, and the walls and ceiling were painted.
I bought tiles, tile cement, grouting, taps, a basin and a toilet from CTM.
Buco delivered the Nutec boards, ceiling boards and roof sheeting.
I sourced the shower, paint, kitchen nook and top from Builders.
Decking was sourced from Fecthers Wood Mill and the deck was installed by Riaan Ruiters.
The cottage is fitted with a gas geyser.
