This study nook was an eyesore for years, the ideal spot for storing anything that didn’t have a place in the house. I decided one afternoon after work that this had to change and played around with a few colours. The next morning, I started my project by marking the geometric shapes with masking tape. I painted with caution and had to wait a long time for some paint to dry before I could apply masking tape on freshly painted areas. By Sunday, the wall had been painted and I painted the cabinet with paint we found in the garage after we had moved in. The slats on the wall were painted with the same paint as the cabinet. I roped in help from hubby to make a bench with planks and screws. The floating shelf was made with a piece of pine. I spray-painted the electrical socket covers with spray paint I had in the garage. I bought the faux plant from a shop and added two scatter cushions I had in storage.
