When we bought our house in 2022, the only access to the main bedroom was through my daughter’s room, which was used as an office at that point in time. One of the walls was covered with a cork tile. The room didn’t have any built-in cupboards. Various electrical cords and plugs were exposed, which were clearly a safety hazard. We decided to build a passage through one of the other rooms to get access to the main bedroom and were therefore able to ‘close’ the door that led into the main bedroom. We removed the cork tiles; redid the wiring; installed downlighters, repainted the room and made use of a contractor to install built-in cupboards. The room was also repainted and a new door was hung.
